To encourage collaboration between UK and European scientists in the field of animal science by:-

  • Supporting membership of key Europe-wide organisations that provide a platform for scientific discourse and collaboration.

  • Enabling UK-based animal scientists to attend meetings and conferences that provide opportunities for collaboration with European scientists.

  • Resulting in the generation of collaborative research and development projects that will provide sustainable livestock production for the public good

  • Disseminating knowledge and information resultant of above

POSITION

The Animal Science UK and Europe Consortium currently has funds to support UK membership of The European Federation of Animal Science (EAAP) and the Animal Task Force (ATF) taking UK membership of these organisations to the end of December 2027. The consortium would like to see this membership secured for at least five years.

This membership unlocks a wealth of opportunities: a vast network of animal scientists, reduced fees for the EAAP Annual Meeting, and invaluable prospects for early-career scientists to network, train, and collaborate internationally.

Let’s ensure our animal science community thrives by supporting this initiative. The Fund's primary aim is to uphold EAAP & ATF UK membership, but it will expand to support other vital initiatives that enhance collaboration for UK and Irish animal scientists.

BISAS is acting as the secretariat, on behalf of UK animal scientists, and invites support from individuals and organisations passionate about animal science, including academia, industry and personal donations. BISAS is also contributing resources, highlighting the importance of this collective. Donations to the European Collaboration Fund can be made here.
